A taste of blood in the mouth is pardonable in terms of impurity

Question:

If I taste blood in my mouth and swallow it does anything I touch like glasses and cups become najis and is my saliva najis? If the things like cups are colourless can I leave it?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His Slave and Messenger.

First of all, you should know that there is a difference of opinion among the scholars in regard to the impurity of the blood of a human being, and there is a strong opinion that it is pure. Those who are of the view that it is impure, who are the majority of the scholars, believe that a small amount is pardonable. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 91629.

If you are certain of the existence of the blood you mentioned, it is apparently small in amount, so you should not be concerned with it - especially as you seem to have obsessive whispers, and being preoccupied with such a thing may cause you even more whispers, while you are required to repel them. This is the best solution. In addition, you may seek refuge in Allaah from the devil and use other permissible means to treat obsessive whispers.

For more benefit on how to treat obsessive whispers, please refer to Fataawa 95488, 92050, and 209290.

Allaah Knows best.
