Question:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful; the Ever-Merciful. I would like to ask about a woman's clothes during ‘Umrah, while having assumed ihram (ritual consecration). Is there a specific color for ihram clothes? What is the meaning of warus (pseudo-saffron) and saffron? Please, reply as soon as possible for I am planning to perform ‘Umrah this Ramadan, Allah Willing.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

There is no specific ihram clothing or particular color for women's ihram clothes except that a woman in the state of ihram should not wear a face-veil or gloves.

Clothes touched with warus and saffron means clothes that have been dyed with warus or saffron, which are dyes that have a sweet scent and have been extracted from known plants.

Allah Knows best.
