Question:

Assalamu alikum My question is regarding purity. We live on first floor of a building. Just above our toilet and bathroom, There is toilet and bathroom of the second floor portion. In the monsoon season and winter season, the roof and upper part of walls of our ttoilet become dampened because of nijs water of second floor toilet. After drying the walls, there are stains of water on walls.often d paint, whitewash , cement fall from the walls and roof in the pot we use to purify ourselves after nature's call. It also fall on the water tap.it is very cumbersome to wash water pot and tap every time.I want to ask that the water pot and tap become nijs (impure) after falling paint, whitewash and cement particles from the above mentioned roof and walls.we have asked many times to our neighbors to take care of the situation bt they ask us to vacant the flat as we are living on rent.plz reply my question .May Allah bless you.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

If you are not certain that the paint which falls down is impure, then in principle it is pure and it cannot be ruled as impure just because of doubt. So, it does not make the pots and other objects on which it falls impure.

However, if you are absolutely certain that the paint is stained with impure water, then in this case it is impure. Without this certainty, in principle it is pure as we have already mentioned.

Allaah Knows best.
