Question:

I have two questions please please give answer ......is it permissible to say may allah fulfill all your wishes by sending the angels....my second question is if i give any name of allah to the creation is major shirk...how major shirk can apply by giving allah name??

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

There is no harm in supplicating Allaah to make wishes come true; however, it should be restricted to good wishes only, as some wishes are not so. There is no doubt that Allaah may command the Angels to help handle the affairs of some of the believers; however, we could not find statements from the scholars regarding specifying in the supplication that Allaah should send Angels to help one fulfill his wishes. It is advisable to supplicate Allaah to guide you to whatever is good and let Him choose for you how it is fulfilled. This is reflected in all the reported supplications in the Quran and the Sunnah and those reported on the authority of early Muslims; what was sufficient for them should be sufficient for us.

As for your second question, it is absolutely prohibited to name human beings the divine names whose meanings Allaah and human beings do not share, but rather are exclusive to Allaah, such as "Allaah", "Ar-Rahmaan", and the like, because it constitutes deviation concerning His names. Allaah, The Exalted says (what means): {And to Allaah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.} [Quran 7:180]

At-Tabari may Allaah have mercy upon him wrote, "The deviation of the polytheists concerning the names of Allaah was that they used them for their gods and idols; and they added to or subtracted from them." [Tafseer At-Tabari]
