Suffering an irregular menstrual cycle

Question:

Is there any way in Islam to regulate periods. I have very disordered periods sometimes it comes and sometime they not. Due to which I have difficulty in getting pregnant. I have been trying much but no way out. Please help.. . I shall be thankful for ur support

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We do not know of a way by which a woman can treat disorders in her menstrual cycle. You are advised to consult a doctor in this regard. What we can clarify for you is the religious ruling on the bleeding, whether it is considered menstruation or Istihaadhah (vaginal bleeding outside the menstrual period). If you are confused regarding the nature of the bleeding, you are advised to explain your condition to us in details and we will provide you with the religious ruling we believe to be correct in your case.
