Question:

As Salam Alaykoum,Recently I would get lots of Waswas from shaytan and I tried removing them by reading, hearing learning the Quran eveyday and learning more about the dinn and going to the masjid for almost every prayer when possible. A couple a days ago when entering the masjid the mu'adheen wasn't there so a elderly told me to make adhan. (I am currently in a muslim society (north africa), so the adhan is hurd by the entire village, and I use to make adhan in my town masjid in a western country, the adhan was heard only within inside the masjid). So, I started the adhan I was a bit nervous because it has been a long time I haven't perform adhan. My right leg began to shake/tremble and I had no power to control it, at one point my left leg started to shake/tremble but I managed to stop the left leg. I didn't make any mistake in the adhan, but knowing that I have already made adhan infront of hundreds of people and this never happened to me before. Also before this incendent I would often do the adhan to my self when I would have waswasa or hearing it would not affect me or reciting ayat al kursi, the last two verses of surat al baqara and others. I am concerned because I know in some cases when a jin exits the body a leg begins to shake heavily. Should I see a Raki' or make roukia to myself, or I am propably paniking for nothing.Jazkallahu khayran

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible to perform the Ruqyah whether or not one is sick, but what you mentioned is probably due to you raising your voice in front of the people, as this (problem) happens sometimes and then it discontinues by being accustomed to it. Indeed, this even happens to some preachers and Imaams when they first start preaching, and then it discontinues.

Hence, you should refrain from contemplating on this matter and you should be keen on calling the Athaan (call to the prayer) any time it is possible for you to do so.

The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “If people knew the (reward) for Athaan and the first row, and they could not obtain them except by drawing lots, they would draw lots to obtain them.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Also, it was reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to Abu Sa‘eed Al-Khudri: “I see that you are fond of sheep and the desert. So whenever you are with your sheep or in the desert and you want to call the Athaan for the prayer, raise your voice in doing so, for no human, jinn or thing hears the Mu’aththin's voice without being a witness to it on the Day of Resurrection.Abu Sa‘eed added, “I heard this from the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.” [Al-Bukhari and others]

Also, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “The Mu‘aththins have the longest necks of all people on the Day of Resurrection.” [Muslim and others]

Allaah Knows best.
