No hadeeth about Companion asking for black wife in Paradise

Question:

Is there a hadith that narrates that a companion desired a black woman as his wife in paradise and was informed by the prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, that he would receive a black wife in paradise?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We have not come across this hadeeth in any of the resource books of the Sunnah that we have at hand. Nonetheless, Al-Booseeri stated three ahaadeeth in his book (It-haaf Al-Khiyarah Al-Maharah) indicating the preference of marrying black prolific women even if they are not beautiful over beautiful barren women. However, Al-Booseeri classified all these ahaadeeth as weak. Also, Shaykh Al-Albaani may Allaah have mercy upon him classified one of these ahaadeeth as weak in As-Silsilah Adh-Dha’eefah [See hadeeth no. 1060].

Our advice to the questioner is not to preoccupy himself with such questions as he has already asked many of them. We remind him of the saying of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ): “There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, a non-Arab over an Arab, a white person over a black person, or a black person over a white person, except by piety. All the people came from Aadam (Adam), and Aadam was created from dust." [Ahmad; Al-Albaani classified it as saheeh li-ghayrihi, i.e. sound due to external corroboration (See As-Saheehah, hadeeth no. 2700)]

Allaah knows best.
