Question:

I have been having obsessions which make me imagine dreadful things. How can I get rid of these obsessions?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We advise you  to have  Sharee‘ah-approved Ruqyah (healing with the Quran) performed for you by a righteous Muslim, or by yourself. This is done by, using Quranic verses, Athkaar (words of remembrance) and authentic supplications. You must  beware of magicians, innovators in the religion and charlatans. It is important that you  observe acts of worship, make supplications and pray regularly. Additionally, you should  abstain from committing acts of disobedience and wrongdoings. Doing so will help in your treatment.  There is also no harm if you  see a trustworthy psychiatrist , or  write to the Islam Web counseling section.

Allaah Knows best.
