Question:

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, Shaykh. If one says, "Oh Allaah, all the roses of the world are for You," is it a wrong statement? May Allaah reward you, Shaykh.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The ruling on this varies depending on whether the person uttered it out of astonishment by this beautiful creation or out of denouncing that they were all created by Allah.

Therefore, if one said this in order to glorify and exalt his Creator, then there is nothing wrong with this; rather, this is something good. Pondering about the Dominion of Allah and His beautiful Creation is required. Allah says (what means): {Say, “Observe what is in the heavens and earth.” But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe.} [Quran 10:101]

Allah also says (what means): {And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind. Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allah].} [Quran 50:7-8]

If he, on the other hand, uttered that out of dispraise and denouncing that they were all for Allah and that they were created by Him, then this is not permissible, and it may even include some kind of disbelief.

Allah knows best.
