Tragus (part of ear) is wiped in ablution

Question:

Assalaamu alaykum. Please do not refer to other answers. Should the 'tragus' (adjacent to the face) be washed in ablution?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The Tragus is the protruding part of the opening of the outer ear. It is part of the ear and not part of the face, so it is wiped in ablution and not washed.

Since you write to us in Arabic sometimes, it is useful to refer you to an important Arabic fatwa regarding the extent of the face and head in order to know what should be washed or wiped in ablution, so please refer to Arabic Fatwa 323272.

Allah knows best.
