Reward of calling non-Muslims to Islam

Question:

I offered some books about Islam to eight people from the Philippines and after a while they converted to Islam. Will I receive the reward for that although I do not observe my religious duties?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

You will be rewarded, Allaah willing, even if you do not observe your religious duties, for actually all of us are not adequately observing our duties toward Allaah The Almighty. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."} [Quran 41:33]

The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was reported to have said that to cause another person's guidance to Islam is better than having a great amount of wealth. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, also said that anyone who guides others to doing a good deed will receive a reward equal to that of the person who practised it. [Muslim]

He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said further that anyone who calls others to guidance will receive a reward equal to that of the person who followed him, without their reward being diminished. [Muslim]

Be happy, dear brother, because Allaah The Almighty will add to your record the reward for every good deed that these persons do. Keep on calling others to Islam, may Allaah The Almighty help and guide you.

Allaah Knows best.
