Men get sexually aroused by seeing woman.i.e men are visual beings. Woman get aroused by foreplay. Foreplay is a must for woman to reach cilmax thus their sex right is full filled. But scholars tell foreplay is encouraged not obligatory. Should not foreplay be obligatory for full fillment of wives sexual right. So foreplay is obligatory or not?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that there are some etiquette for having sexual intercourse that both spouses should observe. This is included in keeping good marital relations that Allah guided us in His Book Saying (what means): {And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable.} [Quran 2: 228]

Among these etiquette is for the husband to have foreplay with his wife so that she will be sexually aroused by him, so he should not be selfish to a point that he achieves his sexual desire without letting her achieve hers.

The scholars urged the spouses to do this. Ibn Muflih may Allaah have mercy upon him from the Hanbali School of jurisprudence, said in al-Aadaab ash-Shar’iyyah: "The best type of intercourse is that which is preceded by its introductions, such as kisses, foreplay, and so forth, so that her lust will be aroused..." [End of quote]

However, the scholars did not state that such foreplay is obligatory, because obligation is a religious ruling that cannot be confirmed except with evidence from the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

No one can tell a lie on behalf of Allah and oblige the people to do something that Allah did not make obligatory. Speaking on behalf of Allah without knowledge is very serious.

Allah Says (what means): {Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."} [Quran 7:33]

Allah knows best.
