All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth was cited by Al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh, with the chain of narrators being omitted as a Mursal report that is attributed to Qataadah .
A group of Hadeeth scholars classified it as inauthentic. For instance, Ibn Katheer said in Al-Bidaayah wa An-Nihaayah: “I did not find it with a fully connected chain of narration that I would approve.” [End of quote] Al-Albaani also classified it as inauthentic in Mukhtasar Al-Bukhaari and in As-Silsilah Adh-Dha‘eefah.
On the other hand, Ibn Hajar reinforced it (by other supportive narrations) in his book Taghleeq At-Ta‘leeq and said: “Al-Bazzaar narrated it in his Musnad with a Hasan (sound) chain of narration.”
Allah Knows best.
