Question:

Assalaam o Alaikum. Can we give our baby girl the name "Zukhruf" like in 'Surah Al-Zukhru'? The Arabic word has different meanings, and I heard that it also means "(Pure Gold, A thing of real and unalterable value, Richest, Wealth, Decoration)". If yes, then can you please tell me all its possible meanings? May Allaah reward you.I'm waiting for your reply. I'll be thankful to you.Full name: "Zukhruf Fatimah" possiblejQuery1110007001616510846187_1599023570164?Regards,Muhammad Zubair03017979460

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no objection to naming your new-born baby girl with Zukhruf Fatimah, as the meaning of Zukhruf is gold in the first place, then every adornment was called Zukhruf.

It should be noted that the mere mention of this word in the Quran or the fact that it is the name of one of its Surahs does not make naming with it legislated and recommended. Rather naming with this name is permissible only like all other permissible names.
