Question:

Q1) Is me saying alahuma barik even when I get this sense of feeling prevent evil eye from falling into that person? Q2)what should I do if I constantly get these thoughts about those people of the good they do, whilst I am doing my tasks and then I get this sense of feeling again, should I stop every time from my task and say alahuma barik, what if I don't will that person be inflicted with evil eye?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

You will not be held accountable for the mere feelings of jealousy, Allah willing. You are advised to supplicate Allah, The Exalted, to bless your friend and preserve the bounties bestowed upon him, and say (the expression of admiration), ‘Ma Sha’ Allah, La Quwata illa Billah (lit. What Allah willed has occurred; there is no power except in Allah), for it safeguards against the effects of the evil eye.

It is noteworthy that the harmful effects of the evil eye may materialize when the affecter (i.e., the ‘A'in, the one casting the evil eye) may cast an evil eye at someone unintentionally, but supplicating Allah, The Exalted, to bless such person and reciting the reported supplication safeguards him against the harmful effects of the evil eye, Allah willing.

Moreover, you have to ward off that feeling lest it overwhelms you. This is doable by evoking the fact that the whole creation belongs to Allah, The Exalted, and He disposes of it as He wills, and that envy involves objection to the decrees of Allah, The Almighty. You should also seek refuge with Allah, The Exalted, from envy, and implore Him to purify your heart from it. You should know that the envious person is the first to be harmed by envy because it can be likened to a burning fire within his heart that cannot be extinguished except by his acceptance of and contentment with the disposal and decrees of Allah, The Exalted.

You should also reflect on the blessings conferred by Allah, The Exalted, on you. This will help you express the enjoined gratitude to the Bestower of such blessings and be content with what He has given you out of His grace.

Allah knows best.
