Question:

Is it permissible for a person in a state of ihram (ritual consecration) for Hajj to wear medical or sun glasses?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There is nothing wrong with wearing sun or medical glasses while in a state of ihram. Wearing those glasses is not among the things that is forbidden in ihram. What is forbidden during ihram is to wear form-fitting clothes, such as a jacket, trousers, or gloves. But wearing glasses, watches, and similar items is not forbidden.

Allaah Knows best.
