All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His slave and Messenger.
We do not know the meaning of this word, or these two words, and therefore we cannot give a specific ruling regarding naming someone with them. However, in general, we would like to inform you that the basic principle regarding names is permissibility, as long as the name does not contain a forbidden meaning, constitute a symbol specific to the disbelievers, imply servitude to other than Allah the Almighty, carry an offensive meaning, involve self-praise, or contain glorification that is befitting for only Allah the Almighty or His Messengers.
Moreover, it is preferable for a person to name his children ‘Abdullah, ‘Abdur-Rahmaan, or after the Prophets, the righteous, and the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with all of them. It was authentically reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The names dearest to Allah are 'Abdullah and 'Abd al-Rahman.”
Allah Knows best.
