Question:

Men in Paradise will have the Hoor, but what will women have? Will a woman desire the man whom she loved in the worldly life and did not marry and will she marry him in Paradise? Will forbidden matters in the worldly life be permissible in Paradise? Will it be possible for any man to have sexual intercourse with any woman he loved in the worldly life? Will that be possible for women also? If it is the case, will there not be jealousy in Paradise?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Allaah The Almighty Has Prepared many different means of honoring the believers and also all that can satisfy their desires and achieve their ambitions in Paradise. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

·        {And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish].} [Quran 41:31]

·        {And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes.} [Quran 43:71]

We know nothing that can prevent the woman from marrying the man whom she loved in the worldly life and died before marrying him. However, if she married a man in the worldly life and then he died while she was his wife, then she would be his wife in Paradise. Moreover, if a woman married many times, she would be married to her last husband for the Hadeeth in which the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “The woman (in Paradise) will be with her last husband.

It is also possible that Allaah The Almighty Will Let a man in Paradise marry the woman he loved in the worldly life. Answering your question: Will forbidden matters in the worldly life be permissible in Paradise? In fact, nothing will be forbidden in Paradise. However, the sexual chaos we witness nowadays will not exist. In Paradise, there will be no single people as the Hadeeth reported by Imaam Muslim stated. Thus, all the people of Paradise will be married and everyone will love his spouse. However, Allaah The Almighty Will Give men from His Bounty any number of wives they desire. The women in Paradise will restrain their glances, desiring no one except their husbands and seeing them as the most beautiful men in Paradise. Ibn ‘Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him said in the Tafseer of the verse in which Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes} [Quran 37:48] that they will not look at anyone other than their husbands and desire no one except them. He said in another narration, “They will desire no one except their husbands. By Allaah! They will not expose their beauty or desire other than their husbands.”

Allaah Knows best.
