Hadeeth concerning the collaboration to destroy Muslims

Question:

Could you please tell me about the Hadeeth in which the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that non-Muslim nations will collaborate to wipe out Muslims?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

 

The Hadeeth which you asked about is narrated on the authority of Thawbaan may Allaah be pleased with him that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the non-Muslim nations would ally to fight and plunder the Muslim nation, like a group of people who sit together to consume the contents of a dish.

 

Clarifying the reason behind this, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that this would not happen due to the small number of Muslims. On the contrary they will constitute a great number, yet will be ineffectual like the foam of the sea, timid and humiliated. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, explained to the Companions that Allaah The Almighty would strip the hearts of the disbelievers of the fear of Muslims and He would fill the Muslims' hearts with weakness, resulting from their love of life and hatred of death. [Ahmad and Abu Daawood] Al-Haythami may Allaah have mercy upon him said that the chain of narrators was good.
