Muslim women uncovering in front of non-Muslim women

Question:

I am unclear about the issue of uncovering in front of non-Muslim women. An Ayah in the Qur'an states that believing women do not have to cover in front of each other, but Christians who say Jesus is God or the son of God are unbelievers. Are these women not believers then? Should we know the woman's belief before we uncover in front of her? Jazakuum Allah kheirun wa Assalamu Aleikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The preponderant view of the scholars of Islam is that it is lawful for a Muslim woman to unveil her face her hands and what normally appears from her body when carrying her household duties in front of a non-Muslim woman. For more details please refer to 81343.

Allah knows best.
