Right of a former homosexual to marry

Question:

Is it right for a Muslim who was once homosexual, but who has reformed him or herself to marry?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

It is known that homosexuality is a greatest sin. It is an offensive and shameless act contrary to the nature of human beings. Allah informed us that the Prophet Lut addressed his people who were the ones who innovated this obscenity: (And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: "Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinns)?
Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).[7:80-81].

There are many verses in the Qur' an that threaten those who practice the above evil. But Allah forgives by His Mercy, all sins if His slave makes a sincere and true repentance.

Allah Says (Interpretation of meaning): (Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh, verily Allâh forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islâm), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped). [39:53-54].
Anyone, who enters a legal Islamic marriage implementing its rules and regulations, his marriage is valid. The bad and evil, which he had practiced in the past, do not have any affect on his marriage. Indeed marriage is the best way to get rid of this bad habit.

Allah knows best.
