Working in Hotel Where Alcohol Is Sold

Question:

I work in hotel in Dubai as visa officer that means I make visa for the guest who want to come to Dubai but the problem is after 6 month (now finish this 6 month) I have to make a residence visa for the people who work in the hotel (as a promotion I become a puplic relation officer ( PRO) and some of them are work in the bar. My question: is my work in hotel selling alcohol, but I do not deal with it, is halal or haram? and for those who I have to make their residence visa. I just know that they will work in the hotel but after that the managers will distribute them; for example to laundry or to cafe or to bar. ...etc. is it halal or haram.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Working in a bar is absolutely prohibited. Also, any support or help in this field is prohibited such as making visas, running after their residence visas etc.

You should know that if a person sees an evil, he should correct it with his own hands or with his tongue or at least with his heart and he should leave the place where evil is taking place.

Therefore, we advise you to look for a lawful job as much as you can which earnings are pure and free from any doubt and sin.

You should remember the Saying of Allah (which means): {And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine}. [Quran 65:2-3]
