Islam is the Religion of the Truth and the Religion of all the Prophets

Question:

I am a Muslim. Sometimes I don't feel sure about Islam. I wonder if I can be100 percent sure. Can you please send me some information or books in English so I can read about Islam?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that Islam is Allah's true religion which He has chosen for His servants. So, Allah does not accept from any person a religion other than Islam. Allah Says (what means): {And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.} [Quran 3: 85].

Islam is to believe in the Oneness of Allah and follow what He has revealed to His Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

Indeed, Islam is the religion of all the Prophets, as Allah Says in reference to Nooh (Noah) (what means): {And if you turn away [from my advice] — then no payments have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e. those who submit to Allah].”} [Quran 10: 72]. In reference to ‘Ebraheem (Ibrahim), Allah Says (what means): {And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. He [i.e. Allah] named you Muslims before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.} [Quran 22: 78].

Allah Says in reference to Moosa (Moses) (what means): {And Moses said, “O my people, if you have believed in Allah, then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims [i.e. submitting to Him].”} [Quran 10: 84].

Allah says in reference to Yaqoob (Jacobs) (what means): {And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], “O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims.”} [Quran 2: 132]

In reference to Yoosuf (Joseph), Allah Says (what means): {My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”} [Quran 12:101]

Therefore, the religion of all the Prophets is Islam, they only differ in the details of their Sharee’ah (legislation) as the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “I am the most deserving from amongst all the people of ‘Eesa Ibn Maryam (Jesus the son of Mary) in This Life as well as in The Hereafter. The Prophets are brothers from the same father and with different mothers but they have the same religion.

This Hadeeth means that the origin of their faith is the same. So, they have the same faith but the details of their legislations are different.

From this, we know that Ibraheem (Abraham), Moosa (Moses) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), may Allaah exalt their mention,  have nothing to do with Judaism and Christianity as these two religions have undergone much distortion and perversion based on polytheist and atheist acts which defame and slander Allah and His Messengers.

So, if Allah chooses someone by making him a Muslim, he should thank Allah for this great favor as he has been guided to the true religion of Islam. Only a glance at other religions is sufficient to convince the Muslim that he is indeed on the right path.

The Muslim adores Allah only and does not humble himself before anyone except Allah, The Greatest. The Muslim's mind is free of misconceptions and myths which form the basis of the actual religions of Jews, Christians and pagans. The Muslim believes in all the Prophets sent by Allah and respects them whereas the Jews, Christians and pagans have different beliefs.

The Muslim believes in The Last Day and in all the matters pertaining to That Day as revealed by Allah to His Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). If one examines worship in Islam and Islam's rulings and legislations, he will realize that Islam can only be but from Allah. Just look at ablution and the prayer and judge for yourself.

Examine the rulings about family planning, the rights of fathers and sons! Can these be of human origin? The answer is negative.

Hence, we advise you, dear brother, to supplicate Allah as much as you can and read the Quran which Allah protected forever. Whenever, Satan tries to bring doubts to your mind, hasten to pray. Indeed, Satan does his best to bring sorrow to Muslims and to push them to go astray.

You should read the biography of the Prophet and some of the books that address the proofs of the prophecy of the Prophet Mohammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and the rescission of Judaism and Christianity. You should supplicate Allah as much as possible and ask Him to give you firm faith saying: (Ya Muqallib al-Quloob Thabbit Qalbi 'Ala Deenika wa ya Musarrifal Quloob Sarrif Qalbi ala Taa'atika) (O, Controller of Hearts, make my heart firm in your faith in your worship. O, Holder of Hearts, turn my heart to Your Obedience.)

May Allah guide us all to the straight path.

Allah knows best.
