Question:

We have a club in Yahoo called Yemen club, we discuss different topics in them, but in the last few days there was a big discussion. I wish that you advice us about it from the Islamic way. The founder of the group has made a Christian co. founder in the group who can delete the posts of the member or ban them or even delete the whole club, he has the same power like the founder of the club and even the founder himself cant delete him from the group anymore. Do you think that its allowed for us Muslims to make Christians founders in our Yemeni club, Yemen is an Islamic country and it represents Islam and Muslims for the foreigners? This Christian founder has tried to do some things which are against our Islamic believes, like telling a girl to escape from her parents and get help from the police in Canada if her parents insist to let her marry a Muslim brother. Many members now leave the club and try to convince their friends not to visit the club because of its founder. My question again. Are we allowed to make a Christian a founder in our Yemeni club? I hope that you get my point. I would appreciate if you answered my question as soon as possible

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is unlawful to let a Christian get hold of a work like this. So, giving him the ability to erase what he wants and leave what he wants, to accept whom he wants and refuse whom he wants in a work like this is unlawful according to Sharia. Omar got angry with Abu Musa Al Ashari when he chose a Christian as his (Abu Musa's) secretary. Omar said to him: "How do you bring them nearer while Allah has repelled them? How do you honor them while Allah has humiliated them?"
So, you should do your best to make this club yours or create a new club for yourself or convince him to give up the supervisor's prerogatives on the site.
Allah knows best.
