Prophet raising from Sujud by clenched fists

Question:

In sheik Al-bani's book it says that the Prophet (Peace and blessing be upon him) used to clench his fist to support when getting up from Sajadha, but I rarely see anyone doing that (among those who follow the Sunnah strictly), or is that Hadith a weak one? Could you please clear this for me?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

The Hadith which proves that the Prophet used to clench his fists for support when he raised up from Sajadah (prostration) is a sound Hadith according to Sheik al-Albani. But, some other scholars did not agree with his research; they are of the opinion that this Hadith is not sound. The other Hadith which proves the position of getting up using feet, knees while hands are on one's thighs is a sound and authentic one. The latter practice is also proved from the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) and others. They perceive that getting up by the support of fists is effective only at the time of necessity such as due to old age or obesity, etc. (See the research of Sheik Bakar Abu Zaid)
Allah knows best.
