A New Convert in UK with Non-Muslim Parents

Question:

I am a convert to Islam, Al-hamdulillah and I was wondering what the rules regarding my situation would be, according to the Qur'an and Sunnah. I am living with my non-Muslim, atheist parents in an area with no Islamic community in United Kingdom. I am unable to wear Hijab outside because of my dad's beliefs about it and my workplace do not accept it. I have no close contact with any Muslims and I was wondering what I should do as a Muslim about this situation. I feel I should leave because my rights as a Muslim are restricted here. I tried to migrate, although without a degree it was hard to find a job and I have no idea about how to get married. I hope you can help me, Insha Allah, and may Allah reward you, Insha Allah

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We ask Almighty Allah to bless you and protect you from all trials which are visible and from those which are not visible. After considering your case we conclude that you are obliged to migrate from your place to another place where you can freely follow the rulings of the Sharee’ah.

Therefore, we advise you to contact an Islamic center in Britain. Praise be to Allah, there are many centers; surely they will help you, Allah willing.

Now here is an address of a center you may contact. Mayfair Islamic centre. The e-mail of this centre is mayfairislamic hotmail.com; phone No: (0044) 74958283.

Feel free to contact us for any further clarification. May Allah help you.

Allah knows best.
