Women and the call to prayer

Question:

Why are women not allowed to make the call to prayer? I need the answers a.s.a.p.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Athaan is called only by men as it is their job since it requires raising one's voice and calling in a good tone. So it does not suit the nature of a woman. However, some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them are of the view that a woman can call Athaan and Iqaama for women only (meaning when they are alone without the presence of men) [without raising their voice]. Also, the most preponderant opinion of the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them is that it is forbidden for her to call Athaan for men and that it does not suffice them if a woman called it [i.e. that if this happens, men have to make Athaan again].

Allah Knows best.
