Question:

What is the number of Messengers in the Qur'an?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

The number of the Messengers (Alaihi al-Salaam) mentioned in the Qur'an is twenty-five Messengers and Prophets together. al-Suyuti reported that al-Bulqini said, 'those twenty-five are the most famous among the Messengers and Prophets'. See al-Tahbeer book of al-Suyuti, page: 645.
Eighteen of them are mentioned in the verses 83 to 86 [Al-An'am: 6]. The seven remaining Prophets are mentioned in different places in the Qur'an. These are: Our Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), Adam, Idriss, Hud, Saleh, Shouaib and Zu al-Kifl (Alaihim al-Salaam).
Allah Knows best.
