Question:

How do Muslims know that Prophet Muhammad was a genuine prophet of Allaah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There are numerous ways that can provide convincing proofs for the truthfulness of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

Some of them are the following:

1) Through his many miracles, of which the greatest and eternal miracle is the Quran.

2) Through his true reports about previous and future events that could be known only by revelation.

3) Allaah The Almighty helped him, assisted him and made His religion triumph over other religions. If he were a liar, Allaah The Almighty would have destroyed him like other autocratic leaders.

4) His high moral standards, which are impossible to attain by liars such as Musailamah, who falsely claimed prophethood.

5) The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is the last Prophet, as Allaah mentioned in the Quran (what means): {… but he is the Messenger of Allaah and the last (end) of the Prophets. …}[Quran 33: 40]

Allaah Knows best.
