Hadeeth Regarding Prayer after Applying Miswaak

Question:

I want to know the authenticity of the following Ahadeeth: (1) $Ayisha$$ (Radiya Allahu Anha) narrated that Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said that the prayer performed after doing Miswaak is better than 70 prayers done without Miswaak. (2) During Ramadan, one Farz prayer performed is equivalent to seventy Farz prayers performed in other months and one voluntary prayer is equivalent to one Farz prayer performed in the other months.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The wording of the first Hadeeth as reported by Ahmad is: “The Prayer done after Miswaak (cleaning one’s teeth) is seventy times better than the Prayer done without Miswaak.” But Al-Albaani graded this Hadeeth as weak. (See Hadeeth 3964 from the weak Hadeeth collection). As for the 2nd Hadeeth, it is reported by Ibn Khuzaymah in his collection of Saheeh Ahadeeth. Its wording is: “Whoever performs an obligatory act during Ramadan gets 70 times the reward of the same act performed outside Ramadan.” But Al-Albaani grades this Hadeeth as weak and unknown.

Allah knows best.
