Question:

Can woman read Qur'an without covering her hairs? And is it better for her to be covered during her sleeping, and when she is among Muslim sisters? Please, I need all views.

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Legally, it is not forbidden for a woman reading the Holy Qur'an to uncover her hair. The condition that should be met for her reading is that she must not be in ceremonial impurity. As for covering her body when she sleeps, then no doubt it is better for her for complete decency if no men could see her. If she is in a place where men could see her, then she has to cover her body entirely. As for being with other women, she has to cover her Awrah (her part of body between the navel and the knee). However, it is preferable for her cover her whole body if there is no difficulty to do so. Allah knows best.
