No Fasting during Menses in Ramadan

Question:

Am I allowed to eat and drink like Fitr when I have my period in Ramadan?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is lawful for the person who has a legal reason to break the fast in Ramadan (menstruating woman, etc.) and eat and drink. There is no objection for him/her to do that. But he/she should not eat or drink in public places as this might make some people accuse him/her of bad things.

The menstruating woman must stop fasting and must not fast while menstruating. Even if she fasts, that fasting does not suffice her. So, she must make up all the days in which she was menstruating.

Allah knows best.
