Printing labels for cigarette products

Question:

I print stickers for companies with their brand name on the sticker and sell it to the companies for them to market their products. Is it permissible for me to print labels for cigarette companies so they can give their products as gifts?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Smoking is harmful to health, economy, society, behaviour and culture, and this is what makes it Haram without any doubt.  Smoking is also considered to be repugnant.  Allah has permitted to us all that is good and forbade us all that is evil.

Therefore, smoking is Haram and there is no way of differing about it, after all that has been discovered these days about smoking.  There is no difference between cigarettes and other kinds of tobacco.

A person who smokes it is sinful and the person who advertises it is sinful, and printing its stickers is also considered as helping others in this regard.

Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {…Help you one another in AlBirr and AtTaqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression….}[5:2].

Allah knows best.
