Question:

I want to know the names of the 10 companions of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) who were promised Paradise.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds.  I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

The ten Companions may Allaah be pleased with them to whom the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, gave the glad tidings of Paradise are:

1) Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq

2) ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab

3) ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan

4) 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib

5) Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas

6) Sa’eed ibn Zayd

7) Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydullaah

8) Az-Zubayr ibn Al-‘Awwaam

9) ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf

10) Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn Al-Jarraah

There are also other Companions may Allaah be pleased with them to whom the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, gave the glad tidings of Paradise, but these ten were singled out because the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, gave them these glad tidings at the same time on one occasion.

Allah Knows best.
