Question:

If a man and woman love each other but can't marry and she was compelled to marry another can they unite in the Paradise? Please give me an answer from your opinion.

Answer:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

It is reported in an authentic Hadith that the woman in Paradise is for her husband in the mundane life if he is in Paradise. Now if she married more than one husband in this life, and she enters Paradise she is to be with her last husband if he, too, is in Paradise.

Al-Tabrani reported in Al-Mujam Al-Kabeer that Muawiya proposed to marry Um Al-Darda, after the death of her husband Abu Al-Darda, she refused his proposal and said: "I heard Abu Al-Darda saying that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "The woman is for her last husband (meaning if both are admitted in Paradise)." She added: "And I do not prefer any man to Abu Al-Darda."

It is also reported that Huzaifa said to his wife: 'If you want to be my wife in Paradise, do not get married after me (my death) as the woman in Paradise is for her last husband in this life.'

So, this lady, if admitted with her actual husband in Paradise, she will be his wife therein even if they are not in good terms in this life. In Paradise, they will not have any conflicts. Indeed they will be happy as Paradise is the home of eternal happiness and comfort. Allah will free their hearts from rancor and hatred.

Allah knows best.
