Question:

My question is related with Haraam or Halaal Job, I am working in one credit bureau as Computer Programmer, function of this bureau is supporting in consumer banking sector.
For Example, if any Pakistani national or non-national go to the bank for credit personal loan, car loan, credit card, etc. banks login our server and dump that applicant information, we provide credit history of that person to bank.
Against the services my company charges some amount to the banks end of the months. My company gives salary from that amount which banks gave against bills.
My concern is that in Pakistan all of the banking depended upon interest base, so should I keep continue this job or should I leave the job.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

If the work of this company is limited to offering services to consumer banking sector, and all the banks deal with usury and interest, then it is forbidden for you to work in it except in case of necessity. Allaah says (which means): {Help you one another in virtue, righteousness and piety but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment.}[Quran 5:2]. What we mean by necessity here is that if you leave this work you will not be able to survive, i.e. you will not find food to eat, clothing and shelter. You have to know that whoever fears Allaah, Allaah will support him and make a way out to his difficulty. Allaah says (which means): {… And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.}[Quran 65:2-3].

Allaah knows best.
