Question:

A woman who sends out her husband in the path of Allaah and stays at home by herself, maintaining her honour and dignity (i.e. protecting herself against temptation and dishonesty) will enter Jannah 500 years before her husband while 70,000 angels and Hoors will serve her. She will be given Ghusl in Jannah and sitting on mountains of pearls, she will await the arrival of her husband. Is this according to Quran and Sunnah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

After we investigated the matter, we did not find any evidence in the Quran or in the books of the Sunnah about what the questioner has mentioned.

There is no doubt that a woman is rewarded for any good deed that she performs seeking Allaah's Pleasure. Among these good deeds is being faithful to her husband when he is absent in Jihaad or elsewhere, protecting her honour and chastity and taking care of his wealth and children. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "The best wife is the one who pleases her husband when he looks at her, if he orders her, she obeys him, and when he is absent, she protects her honour and chastity and preserves his wealth." [At-Tabaraani]

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) also said: "The best wife is the one who pleases her husband when he looks at her, if he orders her, she obeys him, and she does not disobey him when he calls her to bed or does with her wealth what he dislikes." [Ahmad]

Moreover, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) warned women from being unfaithful to their husbands as he said: "There are three people who will be punished severely……. [and he mentioned amongst them]… a woman whose husband is absent and he sufficiently provided her with all she needs, but she was unfaithful to him." [Al-Bukhari and Ahmad]

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) also said: "When the woman prays her five obligatory prayers, fasts her month, guards her private parts (from sin) and obeys her husband, it is said to her: "Enter Paradise from any gate you wish." [Ahmad]

Therefore, a woman is commanded to obey her husband and be faithful to him during his absence, and she will be greatly rewarded for that by Allaah.

Allaah knows best.
