The ruling of seeking permission from Prophet Ilyaas (Elias) before doing anything

Question:

Is it permissible to say Salaam to Prophet Ilyass (Elias), may Allaah exalt his mention, and then seek his permission when one wants to cut a tree to use it for medical treatment?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

This is nothing but a superstition which a Muslim should disregard and should not take into consideration.

Whoever wants to cut a tree or any plant to use it for his need, and he owns this tree, then he may cut it and it is not permissible for him to greet the Prophet Ilyaas (Elias) may Allaah exalt his mention or any other Prophets.

Allaah Knows best.
