Question:

What are the effects of the belief in the unseen on the life of a Muslim (belief in Allah and His angels without seeing Him or them)?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Allah considered the belief in the unseen as one of the characteristics of the pious people. Allah says (what means): {This is the Book about which there is no doubt, guidance for those conscious of Allah. Who believe in the unseen, establish the prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.} [Quran 2:3] This is because of the importance that the belief in the Unseen has on the life of a Muslim. The most important impacts of the belief in the Unseen on a Muslim are:

1-     To have Allah’s consciousness and remember that Allah is always watching and seeing all the person’s acts and behavior; this will urge the person to fear Him.

2-     To be steadfast on Allah’s religion by fulfilling His Orders and staying away from His Prohibitions.

3-     To feel tranquility and calmness; this will urge the person to be patient and not to despair.

Allah Knows best.
