Hearing a strange noise while performing ablution

Question:

I am a religious woman, I perform the prayer on time and I wear Hijaab. Moreover, I do not bad mouth others, all perfect praise be to Allaah. Once, I went to perform ablution for Fajr prayer. While performing ablution, I heard a strange noise and could not grasp the meaning. Is it a divine message? What is it exactly?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

First of all, praise be to Allaah Who guided you to be religious and steadfast on His religion, as this is the greatest bounty on the person. We ask Allaah to make you steadfast on this until you die.

As regards the noise that you heard, it could be from an angel, a human being, or Jinn; all these probabilities are possible. Therefore, it is not possible for us to exclusively say what it really means, but we ask Allaah that there is good in it, and the meaning would be to continue finishing ablution and establishing the prayer. It is required to endeavour in performing ablution and prayer. Nonetheless, you should not worry too much about this matter. Rather you should ask Allaah for good in it; and you should be optimistic as Allaah likes a person to be optimistic and dislikes him to be pessimistic.

Allaah Knows best
