The statement that ‘Umar will question the two angels in the grave is false

Question:
One of my friends told me something which I want to make sure of. He said that it is ‘Umar, may Allaah be pleased with him, who will question the two angels in the grave: Who is your Lord? What is your religion?..., instead of them asking him?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We do not know of any narration which suggests that this statement is true. The leader of the believers, 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab 
was a man of great excellence and of very high status in Islam. When the Prophet 
was alive, he was his minister, and was the second caliph after his death. He was one of the ten companions 
who were given glad tidings to enter . However, this does not mean that we will exceed the limits and exaggerate in his regard, and say what is not legislated. Moreover, the news of the unseen could only be known by revelation.
