Question:

I had a miscarrage recently I lost my baby he was 4 month ,it was very painful for me. and I know there is hadit The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, upon him peace, "The miscarried child will pester its glorious and mighty Lord for His entering its two parents into the Fire until it is told, 'O miscarried child that pesters its Lord! Enter your father and mother into Paradise.' Then it will drag them with its umbilical cord until it makes them enter Paradise." Ibn Majah and Abu Ya`la from `ALI My question is is this hadit sahih and it's the case how about my baby ?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

A believer is tried in this life with many tests and afflictions, then if he is patient and seeks the reward from Allaah, he will have his sins forgiven and his degrees raised. Allaah may substitute him with more than what He took from him. For more benefit on the virtue of being patient when being afflicted and losing children, please refer to Fatwa 85445.

As regards the narration about which you inquired it is a weak narration. Its wording is: "Indeed the miscarried child whose parents were thrown to Hellfire would argue with his Lord, and then he will be told: "O miscarried child who argues with his Lord, take your parents to Paradise, so he would pull them with his umbilical cord until they enter Paradise." This is a weak narration which is reported by Ibn Maajah, Abu Ya'la and Al-Bazaar may Allaah have mercy upon them. However, Mu'aath Ibn Jabal may Allaah be pleased with him narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "I swear by Allaah in Whose Hands my soul is, the miscarried child would pull his mother with his umbilical cord to Paradise if she sought Allaah's Reward for it and was patient." [Ibn Maajah and Ahmad, and Al-Albaani classified it as authentic].

Finally, it should be noted that if the miscarried child is four months old or more, he should be washed, shrouded and the funeral prayer should be performed on him. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 84998.

Allaah Knows best.
