ASALAMOALIKUM, I heard from one of my friend that it is forbidden in ISLAM for a bride to wear RED color dress.i didnt get this answer from anywhere uptil now. Please kindly answer me clearly in Hanfi & Shafi school of thoughts as well.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

It is permissible for men and women to wear red clothes, however, some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them disliked it for men and disliked it for women but only if it was not for the purpose of beautification.

It is not permissible for anyone to forbid something unless there is religious evidence about its prohibition. Allaah Says (what means): {And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, “This is lawful and this is unlawful,” to invent falsehood about Allaah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allaah will not succeed.}[Quran 16:116]. Allaah further Says (what means): {Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment of [i.e. from] Allaah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?”‌}[Quran 7:32].

For more benefit on wearing red clothes, please refer to Fatwa 83820.
Allaah Knows best.
