Using the word 'angels' in naming a beauty saloon

Question:

I would like to know if it ok to use the word angel in a business name such as glamorous angels for a beauty salon.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

The word angels should not be used for what is pertaining to females, like naming the beauty saloon with what you mentioned, as by doing so, it is feared that one is imitating the non-Muslims in considering the angels as females. Allaah Says (what means): {And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.}[Quran 43:19]. It is known that in Islam we are not permitted to describe angels neither by males or females.  Therefore, we do not see that it is permissible to use the word “Angels” or “Angel” as a part of the name of your beauty salon.

Allaah Knows best.
