Question:

theses days a australien newpaper had published in its web site a vot of publishing some pictures wich are against rassoul allah salla allah alih oua sallam.and it said that if the number of voting no reach 1million it will not published these puctures my question is :i think that theses new papers use this vote to attract reader to it should we the muslman evry time a newpaper published a vote visit this site and voting perhaps this sit contains something bad like pictures of women. What is your opinion?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

It appears that the matter is as you mentioned in the question that the purpose of the newspaper is advertisement. Nonetheless, it has become crystal clear that the love of Muslims for the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is very strong in their hearts as they demonstrated in the streets everywhere –as you know- condemning the publishing of the pictures and they boycotted the products of the country which initiated them. They also caused them a great financial loss, all perfect praise be to Allaah.

Nevertheless, we do not see any harm in visiting the site of this newspaper and vote 'No', provided the visitor is safe from being tempted by the forbidden pictures there in.

Allaah Knows best.
