Question:

asalamuraleikoum, my question is about intelligence and education. i have never been successful at school and i end up now uneducated. i always see many other muslims doing good and many karirs as well. so , this make me feel like , Allah rejects me and make me not successful. i know this conclusion is not appropriate . how should i take this?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Know dear brother, that Allaah has distributed His sustenance among His slaves according to His great divine Wisdom. You might not be blessed with intelligence, for example as you feel, yet you are blessed with good health and well-being which many smart people do not have. Allaah bestowed upon you the blessing of hearing and seeing which other people are deprived of. If you try to count the blessings of Allaah upon you, you will fail to do so, as Allaah Says (what means): {And if you should count the favor [i.e. blessings] of Allaah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful} [Quran 14:34]

The greatest blessing which is bestowed upon you is the blessing of being a believer to which no other blessing can be equal.

As for success, of which you think that you are deprived, then it has some means that should be followed to achieve it. You could have been able to achieve success but you failed due to you not adopting the proper means for that, such as studying hard, persistence, making all possible efforts along with seeking help from Allaah.

For other benefits refer to Fataawa 88359 and 88737.

Allaah Knows best.
