Question:

Assalamu alaikum, If somebody curse on me like my parents or any relatives or any other human beings any thing happened to me or not? Suppose if some body curse me like you wil die very badly then in will happed true or not? pls explain.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Whoever is cursed or supplicated against, then it is feared that he will be affected if the supplicator rightfully did so. If the curse or evil supplication is not for a justified reason, then it will not be responded to.

As regards someone saying “you will die very badly” this will not necessarily happen.

However, one should know that nothing will afflict a Muslim except what Allaah has predestined. So, a Muslim should have trust in Allaah and should not pay attention to such statements. We advise you to refer to Fataawa 91031 and 86030 for more benefit.

Finally, it should be noted that parents should supplicate to the favor of their children and not curse them because the supplication of the parents for (or against) their children is responded to.

Allaah Knows best.
