The Description of Paradise & Its Effect on the Companions

The Makkan parts of the Quran strongly focus on the Last Day, to the extent that one can hardly find a Makkan chapter that does not mention descriptions of the Day of Judgment and the conditions of those who enjoy its bliss and those who suffer its torment. One would also find in most of the Makkan chapters a description of how people would be gathered and reckoned on the Last Day. This description is extremely realistic, such that it makes one feel as if he is actually witnessing the Day of Judgment.

1- The Incomparable Nature of Paradise
The honorable Quranic verses describe Paradise as incomparable, something that greatly affected the souls of the Companions.
The bliss of Paradise is something special that has been prepared by Allah The Almighty for His pious slaves out of His bounty and grace. Allah The Almighty tells us about some forms of bliss in Paradise, but what He has concealed from us is unimaginable and incomprehensible. Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.} [Quran 32:17]
2 - The Best Thing to be Ever Given to the Inhabitants of Paradise
The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) said: “When the inhabitants of Paradise enter it, Allah The Glorious and Exalted will say to them: ‘Do you wish that I give you anything more?’ They will reply, ‘Have You not made our faces bright? Have You not brought us into Paradise and saved us from Hell?’ Thereupon, Allah The Exalted, will remove the Veil. The [dwellers of Paradise] will feel then that they have not been awarded anything dearer to them than being permitted to look at their Lord.” In another narration of this incident, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) read the following Quranic verse (which means): {For them who have done good is the best [reward] and more. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. These are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.} [Quran 10:26]
The magnificent image of Paradise and absolute belief in it are very important factors in the revival of our Ummah (Muslim nation). When the image of Paradise lives in the souls of the individuals of this Ummah, they will rush to please Allah The Almighty and sacrifice everything for His sake. They will get rid of fascination with this world and their hatred of death. In such a case, immense power will spring in their souls providing them with determination and persistence on supporting the Religion of Allah The Almighty.
