Where the Prophet recited the Quran to the Jinn

Question

Assalaamu Alaykum, I would like you to please provide me with information about the place called Mahbas Al-Jinn, which is found at the entrance to the sacred precincts of Makkah where the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, met with the Jinn.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alyhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

All we know is that this is the place where the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, met the Jinn and conversed with them.

In a Hadeeth on the authority of Ibn Mas‘ood may Allaah be pleased with him he mentioned that none of them witnessed the night when the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, met the Jinn. When they noticed he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was missing that night they thought he had been killed. However, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, came to them the next morning and informed them that he was with the Jinn and that he had recited the Quran to them. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, then took the Companions and showed them where he had met with the Jinn. [Muslim]

And Allaah knows best.
