Prophet as "Seal of Prophets"

Question

Why is the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, regarded as the "Seal of the Prophets"?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

The Sharee'ah (Islamic legislation) of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) abrogates all previous Sharee'ahs of the Prophets and becomes the standard for them. Therefore, only his Sharee'ah is put into effect and no religion is accepted other than the religion of Islam. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.}[Quran 3: 85]

By the way, the answers to these questions can be found in any standard text on the life of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).
